London: British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has supported the US attacks on Iran, saying that these attacks have reduced the threat posed by Tehran’s nuclear program.
In a statement released on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he said: “Iran can never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.”
He said that the situation in the Middle East remains fragile and stability in the region is Britain’s top priority. At the same time, he urged Iran to return to the diplomatic negotiating table so that a peaceful solution to this crisis can be found.
Iran has made it clear many times that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and that it is not trying to develop nuclear weapons.
This position has also been confirmed by the United Nations Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to which no evidence has been found so far of Iran’s nuclear program being used to create nuclear weapons.
