London: Satellite images taken after the US military attempted to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities show significant damage to Tehran’s nuclear facilities, but the damage is not as extensive as Donald Trump claimed.
The images show damage on the ground, including new craters, holes in mountaintops and collapsed tunnels, but provide no definitive evidence that the heavily fortified underground facilities have been destroyed.
The US president had claimed that the nuclear facilities had been ‘completely and destroyed.’
He said: ‘The greatest damage was deep underground. The target was right in the middle.’
The US military attacked the nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan in the early hours of Sunday under ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’.
