London: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a ‘historic victory’ against Iran, while on the other hand, the US intelligence agency has said in its report that the attacks have only set back Tehran’s nuclear program for a few months.
According to the AFP news agency, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt called the report “completely false” and said that “the leak of this alleged assessment (report) is a clear attempt to discredit President Trump and to discredit all those brave fighter pilots who carried out the best mission to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program.”
The United States dropped bunker-busting bombs on Iranian facilities, after which President Trump claimed in his announcement to have destroyed important nuclear facilities.
US media have cited a Defense Intelligence Agency report saying that the US attacks did not destroy centrifuges or enrich uranium reserves.
The report further states that the attacks have blocked the entrances to the facilities, while the underground buildings were not destroyed.
