13 soldiers and 14 militants killed in North Waziristan attack: ISPR

North Waziristan: According to the Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Department (ISPR), 13 soldiers were killed in a suicide attack by militants on a security forces convoy in the Mir Ali area of ​​North Waziristan on Saturday, while the forces killed 14 militants in an operation.

According to the ISPR statement: ‘A suicide bomber in a vehicle attempted to target a convoy of security forces, which was stopped by the forward contingent and his intention was thwarted, however, the Indian-sponsored Khawarijis rammed the explosive-laden vehicle into a vehicle of the forward contingent.’

According to the statement, Subedar Zahid Iqbal, Havaldar Sohrab Khan, Havaldar Mian Yousuf, Naik Khattab Shah, Lance Naik Ismail, Sepoy Rohail, Sepoy Muhammad Ramzan, Sepoy Nawab, Sepoy Zubair Ahmed, Sepoy Muhammad Sakhi, Sepoy Hashim Abbasi, Sepoy Mudassar Ijaz and Sepoy Manzar Ali were killed in the attack.

The injured personnel include: Naib Subedar Alam, Naib Subedar Tahir, Havaldar Wali Muhammad, Havaldar Tanveer, Sepoy Shahab, Sepoy Hafiz Ikram, Sepoy Qadir, Sepoy Syed Arif, Sepoy Sakhawat, Sepoy Fayyaz. It was further said that “three civilians, including two children and a woman, were also seriously injured in the attack.” The ISPR further said that the militants were chased in the subsequent clearance operations, and after a fierce exchange of fire, the security forces killed 14 militants.
