Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar: Ashura Day is being celebrated with devotion and respect today across the world including Pakistan, during which mourners are paying tribute to the great and eternal sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain, strict security arrangements have been made across the country on Ashura Day, Ashura processions are being held across the country on their traditional routes.
After the mourning ceremony in Karachi, the Ashura Day procession has taken out from Nishtar Park, a large number of mourners are participating, the participants have offered Zuhr prayers at Tibet Center MA Jinnah Road, the procession will end at Hussainiya Iranian Imambargah Kharadar via its designated routes.
Strict security arrangements have been made for the processions in Karachi, DG Rangers Sindh visited the control room and reviewed the security arrangements.
Procession takes off from Nisar Haveli in Lahore
The main procession of 10 Muharram Al-Haram, which took off from Nisar Haveli in Lahore, is on its scheduled route. The procession is moving towards its destination by passing through Chowk Nawab Sahib.
The mourners participating in the Ashura procession, which left the historic Nisar Haveli, are paying homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his martyrs with lamentation and noha khwani. The participants paid tribute to the eternal sacrifice of Imam Hussain and his companions.
The participants of the procession offered Zuhr prayers at Chowk Rang Mahal. The procession will end on its traditional route through Chotta Mufti Baqir, Masjid Wazir Khan, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Gumti Bazaar, Dibbi Bazaar, Syed Matha Tehsil Bazaar, Bazaar Hakeem, Bhati Gate and reach Karbala Game Shah.
Processions also took out in Rawalpindi, Peshawar. The main procession of Ashura in Rawalpindi started from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain at 10 am. Allama Hussain of Tehreek-e-Nifaz Fiqh Jafariya led the procession after visiting the relics.
Strict security measures have been taken on the occasion of Ashura in Peshawar. Processions of Alam and Zuljinah were taken out from more than a dozen Imambargahs in connection with Ashura.
The first procession of Ashura was taken out from Imambargah Agha Syed Ali Shah Rizvi in Kochi Bazaar at 11 am.
The main procession of Rawalpindi reached Fawara Chowk after passing through Committee Chowk. Zuhr prayers were offered by the mourners at Fawara Chowk. Speakers addressed at Fawara Chowk.
4,836 processions are being taken out across the country
4,836 processions are being held across the country on Ashura Day, 5,480 gatherings will be held nationwide on Ashura Day, and 1,301 areas have been declared highly sensitive on Ashura Day.
