London: A video of a light green pigeon has gone viral on TikTok and other social media.
This pigeon first became the center of attention in the English town of Northampton. Many experts suggest that it is a white or common feral pigeon that someone has painted green, possibly for an event or video trend.
According to the bird magazine Birdwatch, the green color did not affect the pigeon’s strength and flight. Its behavior will remain natural unless the color is toxic.
Experts fear that chemicals from the color or dye can negatively affect the bird’s health, whether on breathing or on the function or structure of its feathers.
The video of the green pigeon has received more than four million views on TikTok, with people even coming from as far away as London to see it.
People are expressing both surprise and amusement in the videos and comments, with one local user saying that it is truly amazing, people are coming from different areas to my town to see this pigeon.
It should be noted that some pigeon owners dye their pigeons to help with competition or identification, a tradition found especially in Spain. However, color change due to food is also a possibility, but this is rare.
