Sahiwal: The recent monsoon rains have put pressure on the city’s sewage system. Due to this, drainage is being delayed in different areas of the city. On the instructions of Commissioner Sahiwal, Dr. Asif Tufail, Director Development and Finance, Shafiq Ahmed Dogar supervised the staff present in the field to make water drainage possible. He visited GT Road, Arifwala Road, Inayat Elahi Colony, Hussain Colony, Baba Farid Colony, Faisal Colony, Pir Bukhari Graveyard, Manzoor Park, People’s Colony, and reviewed the water drainage process. He directed that all disposal stations functional and also directed all the staff to remain present in the field until the water is completely drained. He said that in the event of power load shedding, generators should be operated so that the drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas can be completed as soon as possible.
