Vancouver: An emergency arose in the airspace of Vancouver International Airport, one of Canada’s busiest airports, when a small plane suddenly started circling in the air, due to which several flights were prevented from landing and some were diverted to other airports.
According to CNN, it was a small plane that was usually used for training purposes at Victoria International Airport, but on Tuesday the plane suddenly took off and headed 40 miles north towards Vancouver and started circling within the boundaries of Vancouver International Airport.
In a recording of air traffic control, controllers can be heard warning other planes, saying, “We have a plane that has been hijacked and is circling near the airport. As a precaution, all flights are given full authority to take action for their own safety.” On the other hand, locals also saw the plane flying at a very low altitude around the airport, while air traffic control instructed other planes to change course.
