London: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder and leader Altaf Hussain, while addressing a meeting of movement workers around the world, including Pakistan, has announced that he is freeing all workers from the oath of loyalty to the movement and his people, and now they can join any political party they want.
In his address, Altaf Hussain said that he has been struggling for the rights of all the deprived and oppressed people of Pakistan, especially the migrant people, for the past 47 years. Tragedies such as the martyrdom of thousands of comrades, forced disappearances, the occupation of homes, and displacement occurred in this struggle. He said that his own family was not left behind in the sacrifices.
Altaf Hussain said that his 77-year-old brother Nasir Hussain and 28-year-old nephew Arif Hussain were kidnapped in December 1995, tortured for three days and then shot dead in the Gadap area, while Arif Hussain was hacked to death with an axe on the head and his body was cut into two pieces. His 70-year-old brother-in-law, Aslam Abrahani, was also arrested and subjected to brutal torture in Adiala Jail for six months and succumbed to his injuries.
He said that thousands of comrades are still enduring the hardships of imprisonment in prisons, but despite this, they have concluded that they have not been able to change Pakistan’s outdated system or provide the rights of the Muhajir nation.
Altaf Hussain said that from August 10, 2025, he is release all workers from the oath of allegiance and now they can join any political party of their choice.
