Faisalabad: Police said that more than 300 unidentified angry people and 47 people have been identified in the incident of demolition of minarets of two Ahmadiyya places of worship, and legal action has been initiated.
In the Dijkot area of Faisalabad, the police have included various provisions in both cases as well as Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
A police officer from Dijkot police station told Nawa-e-Waqt, Dawn TV on condition of anonymity that on August 14, an angry mob demolished the minarets of two Ahmadiyya places of worship and set one on fire.
He said that two people were also slightly injured in the incident.
He said that “the matter is sensitive, so details regarding the arrests are not being provided; however, cases have been registered and high-level investigations are underway.”
