A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government official’s helicopter crashes, 5 people martyred

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Faraz Mughal has said that the helicopter that crashed, in which 5 people were martyred.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that the provincial government’s MI-17 helicopter was carrying relief supplies in Salarzai when contact was lost.

He added that contact with the helicopter was lost in the airspace of Mohmand due to bad weather, and all efforts are being made to establish contact with the helicopter.

The Chief Minister also said that instructions have been given to immediately send teams to the area, and the KP government’s second helicopter is engaged in rescue operations in Buner district.

Earlier, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah had said that the provincial government’s official helicopter had gone missing.

He had said that the contact of the government helicopter was lost in the Mamond Tehsil area while going to Bajaur.

The provincial chief secretary further said that the helicopter was going to Bajaur for relief activities, and the search for the helicopter is ongoing in Mohmand district.
