Gandapur announces Rs 2 million each to the heirs of those who died in Buner

Bunir: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will visit the flood-affected areas today as well.

Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur visited Buner, which was devastated by the cloudburst, and reviewed the damage caused by the flood and the relief operations.

Talking to the media on this occasion, Ali Amin Gandapur said that Rs 2 million each will be given to the heirs of the deceased.

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gauhar said that he is grateful to the Chief Minister and the provincial government for supporting the people of Buner in their difficult times.

During the visit, a meeting was also held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office of Buner on the flood situation and relief activities, in which provincial ministers, members of the assembly, the chief secretary and district officials participated. During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the devastation caused by the floods.

It was informed in the briefing that 5380 houses have been damaged in 7 village councils of Buner, and so far 209 people have died, 134 are missing, and 159 have been injured.

Ali Amin Gandapur says that restoring roads in the affected areas is the top priority. Additional helicopters have been requested from the aviation; the flood victims will not be left alone in their difficulties. It is not possible to compensate for the loss of life, but financial losses will be compensated.
