Portsmouth: During a music festival held in the British city of Portsmouth, the famous Irish folk band The Mary Wallopers was removed from the stage when they waved the Palestinian flag and shouted slogans in favor of “Free Palestine”.

The band had only been able to perform for 20 minutes when the organizers suddenly turned off the microphones and took them off the stage.

Festival organizers claim that the microphones were turned off because the band had used racist words, and that the decision was not related to the “Free Palestine” slogans.

On the other hand, The Merry Wallopers have alleged that their performance was stopped simply because they waved a Palestinian flag on stage. The band said that they have been doing this for the past 6 years, but have never been treated like this before.

The band took a clear stance and said: “Free Palestine all day, every day.” Their fans also criticized the festival management and called it cowardly.

It should be remembered that The Merry Wallopers have long been raising their voice in favor of the Palestinian people, and they also held a relief concert called Gig for Gaza last November.

At the same time, the band Kneecap from Northern Ireland also defended them and said that in England, if someone raises their voice against genocide, they are treated like criminals. It is noteworthy that Nkep singer Lam is also facing terrorism charges for allegedly waving a Hezbollah flag in London last year.
