Sahiwal: On the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, a team of Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority led by SDO Noman Qaiser conducted a large-scale operation against encroachments at 90 Nawal Bazaar and Arifwala Road. During the operation, illegal Sunday bazaars, stalls, tandoors and other structures established in 90 Nawal were removed, while temporary and permanent encroachments, including large illegal stalls and carts, were also removed around Arifwala Bridge and on Arifwala Road. Citizens are relieved that traffic flow has improved significantly after the encroachment on the roads was lifted. SDO Noman Qaiser said that encroachments are a major reason for affecting the beauty of the city and obstructing public movement, and the Para Force is identifying such areas daily where the encroachment mafia tries to set up camp again. Strict action will be taken against them every time. He added that indiscriminate operations will continue for public convenience and the beauty of the city so that the roads remain completely open for traffic.
