Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has decided to separate from the party post.
Salman Akram Raja, in a statement on the social networking website X (Twitter), announced his resignation from the post of Secretary General PTI and said that tomorrow I will request Imran Khan to separate from the post.
Salman Akram Raja said that today an incident has occurred which now requires a blunt decision from me, my life is an open book, none of my actions contradict any principle. I do not accept compromise on intellectual and economic integrity, my legal services will remain available without compensation.
According to the PTI Secretary General, I am not a traditional politician, neither a landlord nor a mill owner, however, my immediate family stands with me. We have endured all kinds of subtle attacks from within and outside the party, no regrets. We have happily accepted economic uncertainty by putting our strong advocacy behind us.
Salman Akram Raja further said that last Tuesday, Ali Bukhari had sent a request to Imran Khan through Advocate that in view of the immense unjust punishments inflicted on party members, I should be allowed to step down from the post of Secretary General and focus on legal matters. Khan Sahib did not approve my request. I am grateful for his trust.
