London: Various government agencies have become obstacles to investing millions of dollars in Pakistan, while the Ministry of IT and Telecom is helpless in resolving the issues.

The launch of satellite internet in Pakistan is becoming a dream, the launch of satellite internet in the country has been subject to traditional delays, although the arrival of global companies will bring fast internet and digitalization to Pakistan.

According to British media, various government agencies have become obstacles to investing millions of dollars in Pakistan, while the Ministry of IT and Telecom seems helpless in resolving the issues.

Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima is reluctant to respond to the delay in the registration of satellite internet companies.

Reliable sources have said that 5 global satellite internet companies are ready to work in Pakistan, but the registration of all five companies is delayed due to the slowness of the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB).

Satellite internet companies include OneWeb (Avtel Sat Group), Amazon (Kuiper), SpaceCell (SSST), Starlink and Telesat.

Sources further said that the regulatory framework for satellite internet has not yet been finalized, and questions have been raised about the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan vision due to the non-approval of the regulatory framework.

Digital connectivity and digitalization projects are delayed due to the slowness of the regulatory framework, and if the framework is not completed soon, there is a risk of further delay in the launch of services.

According to media reports, Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima has claimed to start satellite internet services in November and December this year.
