Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, chaired an important meeting of the Punjab Healthcare Commission and District Health Officers

Sahiwal: An important meeting was held between the Punjab Healthcare Commission and District Health Officers under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail regarding coordination and capacity building. The objective of the meeting was to eliminate dependency, provide quality medical facilities and ensure effective supervision in the health sector. The meeting was attended by officers of relevant institutions, including the head of the Punjab Healthcare Commission, Brigadier (retd) Dr. Khalid Razzaq. The briefing was informed that the Punjab Healthcare Commission is an autonomous regulatory body that monitors hospitals, clinics, laboratories and other medical centers across the province, and takes legal action against medical negligence, substandard facilities and dependency. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail, while addressing the meeting, said that providing quality and safe health facilities to the people is the top priority of the government, for which close coordination and trust between the Healthcare Commission and the district administration are very important. He said that full cooperation will be provided at the district and divisional levels so that the scourge of dependency can be effectively addressed. He stressed that the process of reforms and monitoring in health institutions should be made more active so that citizens can get better medical facilities.
