Muridke: No one can tell a bigger lie than the police: TLP chief Saad Rizvi, brother Anas Rizvi, leaders and workers booked under Anti-Terrorism Act and other sections

Muridke: A case has been registered against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi, his brother Anas Rizvi and several leaders of the party in Muridke town of Sheikhupura district of Punjab under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other sections.

Punjab Police had dispersed the protesters by taking action against the participants of the TLP march in Muridke on Monday morning.

During this action, the TLP claimed that several workers were killed and injured, however, the number of deaths and injuries could not be confirmed.

Punjab Police confirmed the death of only three protesters, while the death of a police inspector was also confirmed.

According to the FIR registered at the Muridke City police station, ‘Saad Rizvi, who was on the stage, picked up a pistol lying near him and opened fire directly at the SHO Factory Area with the intention of killing him, due to which the SHO was shot in the stomach and he fell injured.’

The TLP has not yet commented on the registration of the case.

While recording the details of the incident in the FIR, it has been further stated that ‘At the same time, Anas Rizvi also opened fire with his rifle, as a result of which the police officers were shot and injured.’

According to the FIR, an attempt was made to rescue the SHO Factory Area, but he succumbed to his injuries.
