Lahore: In the latest list of the world’s most polluted countries, Pakistan has left everyone behind and has come first in terms of air pollution, while India is in second place.
According to environmental monitoring experts, the average air quality index in Lahore has been recorded at 304, which is considered a very harmful level for human health.
Similarly, the air quality in India’s capital Delhi and Pakistan’s industrial city Faisalabad, is also worrying, where the air quality index has reached 221.
Experts have warned that an AQI above 302 is extremely harmful to human health, which increases the risk of respiratory diseases and other diseases.
According to experts, air pollution is likely to increase further in the coming days due to burning crop residues, vehicle smoke and industrial emissions. Citizens have been advised to avoid going out unnecessarily and to ensure the use of masks.
