624 suspects arrested in Lahore and 145 in Faisalabad, ATC Lahore approves the physical examination of 11 activists, and more than 30 suspects sent to jail

Lahore: Crackdown on Tehreek-e-Labbaik continues across Punjab over violent protests; number of arrested activists exceeds 7,000.

Punjab Police says that arrests of suspects involved in violent protests are continuing as per the lists; 5,100 suspects have been arrested across the province.

According to the Punjab Police, 624 suspects were arrested in Lahore, while 145 suspects have been arrested in Faisalabad as well.

On the other hand, police officers dismissed the religious party’s strike call today as a failure, saying that markets and bazaars are open, and strict action will be taken against those who forcefully close shops.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court handed over 11 accused arrested in a terrorism case registered against religious party workers at Baghbanpura police station to the police on a ten-day physical remand.

Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court also sent more than 30 arrested religious party workers to jail on a 14-day judicial remand for the identity parade.

It should be noted that the number of arrests in the ongoing crackdown across Punjab till yesterday had reached 3400, while the number of accused arrested from Lahore was 326.

The police had said that the arrest of the accused involved in provocation and protests is continuing according to the lists, while with the help of footage, the accused involved in direct violence and vandalism are being identified. The accused have been divided into A, B and C categories and arrested.
