Joint operation against encroachments led by Assistant Commissioner Sahiwal Maham Wahid and SDO Para Noman Qaiser

Sahiwal: On the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, a full-scale operation against encroachments is underway across the city. In this regard, the Para Force led by Assistant Commissioner Sahiwal Maham Wahid and SDO Para Noman Qaiser conducted a joint operation in Arifwala Chowk, Arifwala Road and surrounding areas. During the operation, several shops were sealed for illegally placing goods on the footpath and road, keeping goods of shops outside and obstructing traffic, while heavy fines were also imposed on several shopkeepers. Clear instructions were issued on the spot, warning the cart drivers that the goods would be confiscated and strict action would be taken in case of repeated violations. Meanwhile, full-scale action was also taken against encroachments in Pakpattan Chowk and its adjoining areas. Goods kept outside shops and hotels were removed, while several shops were sealed and warnings were issued to others. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Maham Wahid said that public roads and paths are the property of the people, any encroachment on them will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He also appealed to the citizens for cooperation and said that the aim of the administration is not just to take action but to make the city beautiful and accessible. SDO Para Noman Qaiser said on this occasion that, as per the clear instructions of the district administration, the campaign to eliminate encroachments will continue without discrimination. He said that all shopkeepers and cart drivers should remove encroachments on their own; otherwise be prepared for strict legal action. According to the spokesperson of the district administration, the scope of operations is being further expanded daily to make the city free from encroachments, clean and organized, so that better facilities and traffic flow can be ensured for the citizens.
