London: British Prince Andrew has announced that he will return his royal title of ‘Duke of York’.
Prince Andrew says that he is giving up the use of all royal honors and titles after consulting with King Charles.
In his statement, he said that he will still be known as ‘Prince Andrew’, but will not use any royal title in the future. According to him, the title of ‘Duke of York’ given by the late Queen Elizabeth II has also been returned.
Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will also not use royal titles, while their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will retain their royal titles.
It should be noted that Prince Andrew has faced severe criticism in the past for his relationship with American businessman Jeffrey Epstein, but he has again strongly denied these allegations.
