London: Waymo, the first company to introduce driverless and smart vehicles called robotaxis, plans to introduce its driverless taxis on the streets of the British capital, London, from next year.
Waymo has said that this first company to introduce robotaxis now wants to expand its service of providing ‘driverless rides’ to ordinary users internationally, and its next business target is London, where this project is expected to become practical in 2026.
Waymo has said that the experimental phase of running its driverless vehicles on the streets of the British capital will begin in the next few weeks.
Initially, however, these vehicles will have an expert driver sitting behind the steering wheel as a ‘safety driver’ to deal with any unforeseen situations.
