Sahiwal: The District Coordination Committee meeting was held at Montgomery Hall under the chairmanship of Convener Member Provincial Assembly Malik Qasim Nadeem. In which the development projects of the entire district, especially the schemes proposed under the “Restoring Roads, Prosperous Punjab Program”, were discussed in detail. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, Members of the Provincial Assembly Syed Wilayat Shah Khaga, Muhammad Arshad Malik, Rana Riaz Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Rana Aurangzeb, Deputy Director Development Muhammad Akram Wattoo, and officers of all relevant departments. During the meeting, the participants discussed the development funds received by the provincial constituencies under the Rural Link Road Program so that all the proposed schemes can be finalized as soon as possible, and the timely implementation of public welfare projects can be possible. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood said that as per the instructions of the Punjab government, the aim of the “Restoring Roads, Prosperous Punjab Program” is to facilitate transportation in rural areas and promote the local economy. He directed all departments to pay special attention to the quality and transparency of the schemes so that the development work is completed as per the public expectations. Convener Malik Qasim Nadeem, while addressing the meeting, said that the pace of development projects should be further accelerated and the resolution of public problems at the field level should be made the top priority. He clarified that the elected representatives are playing a full role in fulfilling the government’s development vision. The meeting also expressed the determination that cooperation and a coordinated strategy would be adopted for the timely completion of development works in Sahiwal district.
