Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail chairs a meeting to review the under-construction projects of the Building Department

Sahiwal: A detailed meeting to review under-construction projects of the Building Department, Sahiwal, was held at the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail. The meeting was informed that 37 projects are under construction in Sahiwal district at a huge cost of Rs 7.52 billion, out of which 17 are ongoing and 20 are new. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail took a detailed briefing on the ongoing projects and directed to speed up the pace of work be sped up on them so that they can be completed on time. He expressed displeasure over the tendency of departments to repeatedly change the nature of work on ongoing projects and increase them, and directed that priority should be given to completing development schemes as per the original scope. He directed to immediate release of another Rs 50 million for the completion of the under-construction building of the Sahiwal Board so that it can be completed by next month. So far, Rs 20 crore has been spent on this project. He expressed satisfaction over the completion of the Agri Mall project at a cost of over Rs 30 crore, where farmers will be able to get fertilizers, seeds and agricultural chemicals at standard and fixed rates. In Sahiwal, the work of renovating 185/9L Rural Health Center for Rs 10 crore and 12 basic health centers for Rs 30 crore is in the final stages. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail directed the early completion of these ongoing projects to provide health facilities to the people and urged the concerned officers to ensure the quality of work at all times through continuous monitoring so that the people can get long-term benefits from them. It was informed in the meeting that the construction of the Rural Mall for Rs 33.7 million is also underway in Noor Shah, while the construction of the Anti-Terrorist Complex for Rs 25 crore and the Parole and Probation Office for Rs 37.2 million is also in the final stages. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail also directed to start the construction work of para offices in Sahiwal and Chichawatni soon.
