Sahiwal: An awareness seminar on the prevention of measles and rubella was organized by the District Health Authority Sahiwal at a local school. The seminar was attended by CEO Health Dr. Abdul Majeed Niazi, District Health Officer Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry, Rescue 1122, District Health and Population Authority officers, teachers and representatives of civil society. Addressing the ceremony, CEO Health Dr. Abdul Majeed Niazi said that the national vaccination campaign to protect children from measles and rubella will continue from November 17 to November 29, 2025. He appealed to parents to vaccinate their children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years against measles and rubella to protect their lives from these dangerous diseases. District Health Officer Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry said that 383,290 children of Sahiwal district will be vaccinated against measles and rubella during the campaign. He added that parents should get their children vaccinated free of cost at nearby health centers, temporary vaccination centers or schools. The speakers emphasized the harms of measles and rubella and the importance of timely vaccination and said that a healthy society is the guarantee of the country’s development. At the end of the seminar, awareness pamphlets were distributed and the participants expressed their determination to make the vaccination campaign a success.
