Quetta: Armed men attacked and set fire to a Levies police station in the city of Bhagnadi, Balochistan, while the officials present in the police station were also taken hostage.
Unidentified armed men attacked government buildings and police stations in the Kachhi district of Balochistan, as a result of which a police officer lost his life, while an attacker was also killed in the retaliatory action.
The armed men damaged several government buildings.
According to police officials, dozens of armed men entered the Bhagnadi area of the district, about 230 kilometers from the provincial capital Quetta, on Monday evening and simultaneously attacked the National Bank, Tehsil Office, police and Levies police stations.
According to SSP Kachhi, the exchange of fire continued for several minutes, in which SHO Inspector Lutf Ali Khosa lost his life.
According to eyewitnesses, dozens of armed men came riding motorcycles and a vehicle and attacked and damaged police and levies stations, armouries, wireless sets and the tehsil office. However, the SSP denied this and said that the personnel bravely foiled the attack.
