London: Resident doctors in England have announced a strike in favor of demanding a salary hike before Christmas. According to media reports, the strike will continue from December 17 to December 22.

The head of the Resident Doctors Committee says that the British government has failed to increase the salaries of doctors and has not presented any credible plan to solve the jobs crisis, which has made the strike inevitable.

Resident doctors are paid 15 pounds per hour, which they call insufficient, and are demanding an increase. This strike will be the 14th strike by resident doctors in favor of their demands.

It should be noted that resident doctors make up almost half of the National Health Service (NHS) medical workforce, and the impact of the strike will be significant in the health sector.
