Government announces all possible measures for the protection of minorities and religious freedom on Christmas, Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, and RPU Rana Ayaz Saleem.

Sahiwal: Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail and RPU Rana Ayaz Saleem have said that respect for followers of all religions is the responsibility of the state, and the government is taking all possible steps for the protection of minorities, religious freedom, and the establishment of law and order. The security of all churches and Christian places of worship will be made foolproof, and additional police personnel should be deployed during Christmas, they expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on the promotion of interfaith harmony. In which Regional Police Officer Rana Ayaz Saleem, Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq, (Deputy Commissioner Pakpattan Asif Raza and Deputy Commissioner Okara Ahmed Usman via video link), while Ulemas Syed Ziaullah Bukhari, Ehsan Faridi, Hassan Masoomi and minority representatives Bishop Abraham Azeem Daniel, Elder Dilbar Jani and Father Nadeem Joseph participated. The meeting reviewed the security arrangements to make the religious festival of the Christian community peaceful and safe on the occasion of Christmas. The Commissioner directed that strict surveillance, walk-through gates, and checking arrangements with CCTV cameras should be ensured at the entrance and exit points of churches. He said that the district administration and police would remain fully alert to deal with any untoward incident. Expressing their views in the meeting, Ulemas and minority representatives said that we are all Pakistani citizens and we have equal rights under the Constitution of Pakistan. He stressed that interfaith harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect are the guarantee of a peaceful society. Briefing the meeting, RPO Sahiwal said that a security plan has been prepared across the Sahiwal division on the occasion of Christmas, and special measures are being taken after identifying sensitive places in all districts. He extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community in advance and said that this festival will promote the message of brotherhood, love, and peace.
