Not the position, the institution is important: Sahiwal Press Club presidential candidate Umar Manzoor assures to address all issues for the welfare of journalists, press conference.

Sahiwal: All issues will be addressed for the welfare of journalists. God willing, after success, I will take everyone with me. All members of the Press Club are my brothers; this is what I say.
Sahiwal Press Club presidential candidate Umar Manzoor, while addressing an important press conference, set a high example of democratic traditions, tolerance, and mutual respect. On this occasion, Pervez Kharal, Mirza Khalid Nadeem, Chaudhry Najeeb, Wilson Raza, and Nasir Shah were also present. During his speech, he repeatedly addressed the opponents as “brothers” and emphasized that the strength of the Press Club is its unity and democratic continuity, not mutual differences.
Umar Manzoor clarified that he takes all the objections raised by the opponents seriously and is ready to provide all possible cooperation to resolve them. He said with great humility that we beg you not to spoil the democratic system and election process of this Press Club in any way. We stand with you at all costs.
Taking a clear and democratic stance, he said that if the opposition candidates are successful in the elections, he will be the first to congratulate them. He said that not the position, but the institution is important, and the strength of the institution is possible only through the continuity of the democratic process.
In the press conference, Umar Manzoor also explained that if the Chairman of the Press Club, Hafiz Waheed, used harsh or inappropriate words at any time, they have been withdrawn, a formal notice of which has also been registered on the board. He said that 104 regular members of the Press Club will participate in the election, so that there is no room for any ambiguity or doubts.
Presidential candidate Umar Manzoor assured the entire journalist community that if anyone has any objection, question or ambiguity regarding the election, he is ready to discuss it openly. He said, “We want these elections to be transparent, fair, and with the consent of all, because this is the basis of a strong and prestigious press club.” On this occasion, he presented his manifesto for the welfare of journalists. A special fund will be established for the insurance of journalists in the Journalist Colony and for the education, health, and marriage of the children of journalists and the construction of a mosque will be completed in the Press Club.
