Sahiwal: Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail has said that providing a clean environment to citizens and increasing the beauty of cities are among the important priorities of the Punjab government, for which the government is spending a lot of money. He said this while presiding over a special meeting held regarding the beautification of the city. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Captain (retd) Samiullah Farooq, Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Saifullah Bhatti, Director Development Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Managing Director WASA Tanveer Qaiser Sindhu, and officers of the relevant departments. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail directed that the roads under construction across the city as well as sewer lines, footpaths, and green belts, should be planned in advance so that vandalism of roads can be avoided later. He said that clear signboards should be installed on newly constructed roads to guide the citizens. He added that all street lights across the city should be made functional so that the citizens can get better facilities. The Commissioner also stressed on paying special attention to cleanliness on the entrance and exit routes of the city. The meeting reiterated the commitment to ensure timely completion and quality of beautification projects so that Sahiwal city can be made a beautiful, clean and exemplary city.
