Lahore: Provincial Energy Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar visited the University of Home Economics Lahore and officially inaugurated the solar panels project at the university. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics Professor Dr. Zaibun-Nissa, including the university administration and relevant officers, were also present. The provincial minister said that according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is rapidly moving towards green energy and the promotion of clean, affordable, and environment-friendly energy is the top priority of the government. He said that solarization of educational institutions is among the priorities of the Punjab government so that the rising cost of electricity can be reduced and national resources can be saved. The provincial energy minister further said that in the next three years, all educational institutions across the province will be converted to solar energy so that better facilities can be provided to students and the institutions are protected from an energy crisis. Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the solarization project of the University of Home Economics will prove to be an example for other educational institutions, and it will not only save electricity but also help in the promotion of environment-friendly energy. He added that the mission of the Punjab government is to provide clean and affordable electricity to the people, and renewable energy projects will be further expanded in the province. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zaibun-Nisa thanked the provincial energy minister and said that the installation of solar panels will reduce the expenses of the university and will definitely prove to be a milestone towards a modern energy system.
