Tehran: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Wednesday that its naval forces had seized two ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement of an extension of the ceasefire to give more time for peace talks.
According to the AFP news agency, the UK-based Maritime Security Monitor confirmed that three commercial vessels had reported incidents with gunboats in the strait. The waterway is an international gateway for the Gulf’s oil and gas industry and is contested by the US and Iran.
