Pakistani-Indian Air Force ‘dogfight’ ‘largest and longest’ in history: CNN

Staff Reporter Daily Dawn + Dawn TV Report

London: The recent ‘dogfight’ between Pakistani and Indian fighter jets during India’s attack on Pakistan was one of the largest and longest clashes in aviation history.
According to American television channel CNN, a total of 125 fighter jets were involved in the clash.
A senior Pakistani security official told CNN that it was one of the ‘largest and longest’ air battles in recent aviation history.
According to Pakistani officials, Pakistani forces shot down five Indian aircraft in the air clash, including three French-made Rafale fighter jets.
According to Dawn sources, the fight lasted for more than an hour.
According to CNN, the aircraft of the two countries remained in their respective airspaces, while the missiles were often exchanged at a distance of more than 160 km.
According to the report, neither side decided to send its pilots across the border, as during a clash in 2019, an Indian aircraft was shot down by Pakistan inside its territory and its pilot was captured and shown on TV, which was embarrassing for it.
According to Dawn’s sources, neither side wanted to repeat the experience in this way.
At times, the Indian Air Force had to strike multiple times to hit its targets, Dawn sources said. Pakistan made every effort to warn civilians in potential target areas, and the army succeeded in keeping civilian casualties to a minimum.
