London: An important revelation has come to light regarding leading British universities, according to which 12 British universities, including Oxford, paid millions of pounds to a private security firm to spy on pro-Palestinian students and teachers.
According to Arab media reports, available evidence has shown that these universities have paid at least £440,000 to an intelligence or security company since 2022, the purpose of which was to secretly monitor protest activities on campus, and especially pro-Palestinian individuals.
According to the documents, this monitoring included not only students but also academics. They include a Palestinian scholar who was invited to lecture at the University of Manchester, but his activities were also monitored.
According to the report, these payments were allegedly made in the name of monitoring protests and political activities on campus, which is being expressed by human rights circles and academic freedom advocates.
