London: Israel appealed to the public to donate blood on Tuesday morning given the ‘severe blood shortage’.

According to a report by the British newspaper ‘The Telegraph’, the country’s emergency rescue service MDA has said that ‘O group’ blood is particularly essential, while the situation has worsened after another night of Iranian bombing.

Special donation centers are being set up in hospitals, synagogues and community centers across the country.

Although the overall death toll in Israel is low so far, at 21, hundreds of people have been injured in bomb blasts in the past 5 days.

MDA operates ambulances, mobile ICUs, and motorcycle first responders.

The MDA said that all 35,000 of the organization’s employees and volunteers have been mobilized to provide immediate and effective medical assistance.

As of Tuesday morning, MDA had treated a total of 708 injured people, including 13 people with serious injuries, 37 with moderate injuries, 581 with minor injuries, and 56 people with mental health problems and panic attacks.

At the request of the Israeli Ministry of Health, MDA teams are transferring nursing patients, patients on ventilators, newborns, and others from their current locations to safer locations, using specially designed ICU buses, mobile ICUs, and ambulances.
