London: The UK Ministry of Defense has handed over three modern hovercrafts to the Pakistan Navy, which is a significant development in terms of Pakistan’s maritime defense capability.
The handover ceremony of the hovercrafts was held in London in which Pakistan High Commission, London Naval and Defense Advisor Commodore Jawad Haider Khawaja, UK Ministry of Defense Representative Commodore Richard Valley, Defense Procurement Attaché Captain Muhammad Faisal Manzoor and other senior officers participated.
On this occasion, it was made clear that Pakistan attaches great importance to its long-standing and strong defense relations with the United Kingdom. The handover of the modern hovercrafts is a symbol of trust, cooperation and friendship between the two countries. The two countries continue to hold regular joint military exercises, training and cooperation in the defense sector.
Britain hands over modern hovercrafts to Pakistan Navy
It was informed on this occasion that these hovercrafts have been manufactured by the renowned British company ‘Griffin Marine Support’. The handover was completed on June 25, 2025, which is the result of a government-to-government agreement signed in February 2022.
These hovercrafts are known for their high speed, easy mobility and ability to perform a variety of missions. Their induction will significantly enhance the Pakistan Navy’s ability to conduct quick response and rescue operations in coastal areas.
These modern hovercrafts are not only important for defense purposes but will also prove effective in assisting in natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. Their induction will further improve the efficiency and reach of the Pakistan Navy.
