London: Punjab Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs and Pradhan Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, met Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UK Dr. Muhammad Faisal in London. In which the two leaders had important discussions regarding the issues of the Pakistani Sikh community living in the UK, visa facilities, religious tourism, investment and promotion of the Punjab government’s minority-friendly policies at the international level.
On this occasion, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora suggested organizing road shows to promote Sikh pilgrimage in Pakistan by the Sikh diaspora living in the UK. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights and the respect, religious freedom, and facilities being provided to the Sikh community under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif are a matter of pride.
The construction and restoration of 40 historic Gurdwaras in Punjab, their documentary video series and proposal to introduce them globally, construction of five-star hotels in Kartarpur and Nankana Sahib to make the Kartarpur Corridor more functional and equipped with modern facilities to reduce the difficulties of accommodation and food for Sikh pilgrims coming from abroad, investment of Sikh diaspora in religious tourism, social welfare and heritage projects in Pakistan, improvement of direct contact and provision of facilities to the Sikh diaspora by the Pakistani Embassy in the UK, and awareness about the ongoing scholarships, employment and representation programs of the Punjab government for minorities were discussed in detail. Dr. Faisal appreciated the services of the Sikh community and their heartfelt connection with Pakistan and assured all possible diplomatic support.
