Inspection of British airline flying directly to London, screening of passengers, airport security arrangements reviewed, possibility of lifting ban on flights

London: A team from the British Department of Transport (DFT) has made an important visit to Islamabad International Airport for a security audit. The team thoroughly inspected the security screening process of passengers on flights to the UK and reviewed the security arrangements at the airport.
The British team also checked the passenger check-in process and boarding issuance system. The British team also audited the passenger immigration and visa screening system.
Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) officers also briefed the British team. The British team is conducting a security audit of Islamabad Airport in collaboration with PAA.
The DFT team also inspected a British airline flying directly from Islamabad to London.
This audit is important in restoring direct Pakistani flights from Islamabad International Airport to the UK.
A British team is examining flights from Islamabad Airport to the UK. The British Department of Transport team will complete the audit and leave by July 10.
The British Department of Transport team will present a report on Pakistan’s airports and airlines in the meeting. It is hoped that the British Air Safety Committee will review the report and lift the 5-year ban on Pakistani airlines in the UK.
