Sahiwal: The district administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood is busy taking vigorous measures to deal with the flood situation. At the district level, the administration, para-force rescue organizations and other relevant departments are working day and night to control this emergency in coordination. Para-force in-charge Noman Qaiser said that all officers are performing their duties under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Shahid Mahmood. Due to the flood situation in the Ravi River, 30 villages of Sahiwal district were affected, of which 19 villages are located in Sahiwal tehsil and 11 villages are located in Chichawatni tehsil. 1999 people were affected by this natural disaster, for whose immediate evacuation and protection, the district administration has established 24 flood relief camps. Rescue 1122 has set up 6 special rescue posts, and so far, 1967 people and 2646 cattle have been shifted to safe places. In addition, 885 animals have been treated at the Livestock Department Veterinary Camp. According to the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, the agricultural sector has also been affected by the flood, and so far 776 acres of standing crops have been affected, including 570 acres in Tehsil Chichawatni and 206 acres in Tehsil Sahiwal. Announcements are being made through mosques to ensure the timely evacuation of the people in the affected areas, while the services of local number holders have also been obtained so that the information can be conveyed to the affected people as soon as possible. The Deputy District Administration will ensure the protection of the lives and property of the people by utilizing all possible resources, and full assistance will be provided to the flood-affected people.
