London: British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy strongly criticized the Israeli government in his address to Parliament and expressed concern over the famine in Gaza.

The British Foreign Secretary said that there is no natural disaster in Gaza, but rather a man-made famine of the 21st century.

David Lemmy added that Israel’s blocking of aid to Gaza is seriously damaging its reputation internationally, especially as the younger generation is looking at it terrifyingly.

British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy warned Israel that the ongoing military operations in Gaza will not bring any further benefits, but will only prolong the crisis.

He called for an immediate ceasefire and an agreement to release the hostages, saying that Britain and its partner countries cannot allow further operations in Gaza.

The British Foreign Secretary also announced that Britain will soon recognize a Palestinian state and that this move is neither tantamount to rewarding Hamas nor is it against Israel’s security.

David Lammy urged Israel to cease hostilities, saying that security can only be achieved through secure borders rather than permanent occupation.

On this occasion, the Foreign Minister further stated that seriously ill and injured children from Gaza will be brought to the UK with their parents for treatment. The first group of which is due to arrive soon.

He further stated that at the same time, the British government has fulfilled its promise to provide higher education to Palestinian students on scholarships.

It should be remembered that the prolonged war in Gaza is increasing public opinion against Israel, not only in the US and the UK but also in other Western countries.

Key allies such as France, Britain and Belgium have also announced that they will recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly, a major diplomatic blow to Israel.
