Karachi: It has been revealed that 120,000 taxpayers have benefited from the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), who have been paid more than Rs 4 billion from this program.
Out of 120,000 taxpayers, 30,307 people are directly included in the active tax list, while out of 88,892 people, one of the wives or husbands was part of the active taxpayer list.
The audit authorities have ordered an inquiry into the matter, declaring it illegal to provide benefits to undeserving people from BISP.
