Edinburgh: The impact of the world-famous Turkish drama ‘Korleş Osman’ has gone beyond borders. A woman from Scotland converted to Islam after being inspired by the drama.

According to Turkish media, Julieta Lorena Martinez, a woman from Scotland, converted to Islam after being inspired by the Turkish drama ‘Korleş Osman’.

According to Turkish production company Bozdag Film, Julieta Lorena Martinez became deeply interested in Turkish history and Islamic culture after watching the drama, which ultimately led her to study the teachings of Islam.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Julieta Martinez said that she started watching Turkish TV series during the COVID-19 lockdown.

According to her, the story, history and Islamic information of the series impressed her so much that she started reading the Holy Quran, and about 2 years after starting to watch ‘Korleş Osman’, she converted to Islam after reciting the Kalima Shahadat.

After converting to Islam, Julieta Martinez traveled to Istanbul, where she visited the sets of the film Buzdag, saw the Qai tribe camp and toured various filming locations of the show.

She described the experience as a ‘spiritual pilgrimage’ and said that she felt a new feeling within her, as if her life had started again, and she loved it all.
