London: Five teams including Pakistani cricketers in their squads for the T20 World Cup 2026, are facing difficulties in obtaining Indian visas.

According to Nawa-e-Waqt / Dawn sources, Canada, Italy, Oman, the United States, and the UAE have written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) informing them about the difficulties in obtaining visas.

Sources say that the ICC and the BCCI have not yet responded to these countries.

In the past, visas were given to two Pakistani players of the England team with great delay.

Shoaib Bashir and Saqib Mahmood of the English team could not play a few matches due to visa issues.

Despite holding a British passport, there are visa issues due to ties to Pakistan. Due to the strict policies of the Indian government, it takes up to 90 days for Pakistani-origin players to obtain visas.

It should be noted that the World Cup is scheduled to officially begin on February 7.
