Peshawar, Pakistan :Nasir Ghilzai, Advocate High Court and a prominent family lawyer, has played a leading role in achieving a major reform to protect and support family litigants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As a result of his continuous efforts, dedicated advocacy, and consistent meetings with relevant authorities—along with the collective efforts of family lawyers—the Government has successfully appointed a psychologist in Family Courts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This landmark initiative marks a significant step toward ensuring that individuals involved in family and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) related cases receive proper mental and emotional support during legal proceedings.
Family court litigants, particularly women, children, and vulnerable individuals, often face severe psychological stress. The inclusion of a qualified psychologist within the court system will help address these challenges and promote a more compassionate, humane, and effective judicial environment.
This development will:
Provide essential psychological support to litigants
Assist courts in better understanding emotional and behavioral dynamics
Reduce trauma associated with family disputes and GBV cases
Strengthen a more humane and supportive judicial system
