London: The son of former Pakistani cricketer Naeem Ahmed, who drove a taxi in England, created history in England’s domestic cricket.

17-year-old off-spinner Farhan Ahmed (younger brother of English Test spinner Rehan Ahmed) became the first player to take a T20 hat-trick for Nottinghamshire in the Vitality Blast T20 tournament played at Trent Bridge. He dismissed five players for 25 runs.

Thanks to Farhan Ahmed’s brilliant bowling, Lancashire could only score 126 runs and Nottinghamshire achieved the desired target in the 16th over for the loss of 6 wickets.

It is worth noting that last season he became the youngest player in Britain to achieve this feat by taking 10 wickets in a first-class match.

He is also the youngest first-class player in the club’s history, having made his debut for Nottinghamshire at the age of 16.
