Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan chairs the first briefing session at the Civil Secretariat, Law Department, after being handed over the portfolio of Law Minister

Lahore: Provincial Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan chaired the first briefing session at the Civil Secretariat, Law Department, after being handed over the portfolio. On this occasion, Provincial Minister C&W Sohaib Ahmed Bharath welcomed him along with others, while Law Secretary Asif Bilal Lodhi gave a detailed briefing to the Provincial Minister on the performance, ongoing and proposed projects of the Law Department and informed that the plans for establishing lady bar rooms for women lawyers at all district and tehsil headquarters of the province, construction of District Attorneys’ Offices in various districts including Okara, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Sahiwal, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Hafizabad, Bahawalnagar, Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura and Narowal, construction progress of Advocate General Office Bahawalpur, construction of Judicial Tower Lahore were included, while a briefing was also given on the proposed new schemes for the Annual Development Program (ADP) 2025-26. In his address, Provincial Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said that easy access to justice and improvement of legal infrastructure are the top priorities of the Punjab government. He said that the provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to developing the law and justice system on modern lines. Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan directed the law department to ensure timely completion, transparency and quality of all development projects. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide better facilities to the legal community, especially women lawyers, so that they can play a full role in the judicial system. The meeting was attended by senior officers of the law department, representatives of the Advocate General’s Office and concerned officers.
