London/Edinburgh: Britain is currently in the grip of a severe snowstorm Gority, due to which normal life has been badly affected in various areas. The West Midlands has recorded the heaviest snowfall in the last decade.

High winds have made the situation more serious, with wind speeds reaching 100 miles per hour in many places. Thousands of consumers have lost power as a result of the storm.

Britain is currently facing a powerful cold weather, heavy snowfall and stormy winds, which is being described as one of the heaviest snowfalls in the country, especially in the last ten years.

Europe, and the UK in particular, has been battered by Storm Gorty, which has brought with it winds of around 99–100mph and heavy snowfall. Up to 30cm of snow is forecast in some areas.

The recent snowfall is being described as the heaviest in a decade in many areas, including the West Midlands, which has severely disrupted daily life. Thousands of homes have been left without power, and power cuts have become widespread, particularly in the West Midlands and the south.

Schools have been closed, rail and bus services are suspended or affected, while road traffic is also severely affected. The winds and snow are causing flight delays and cancellations, and emergency alerts have been issued in some areas.

Storm Gorty has prompted the UK Met Office to issue red, amber and yellow warnings, indicating severe weather and potential damage.

Meteorologists have said that this cold wave and storm have started as a weather bomb, which means a sudden, sharp drop in pressure and a change in weather.

An amber alert has been issued for the West Midlands region, while Birmingham Airport had to suspend flights due to the closure of the runway. There have been incidents of trees falling due to strong winds in Cornwall.

Authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures. In London, citizens have also been confined to their homes due to the bad weather.
