Rs 526.6 million was released for new vehicles for Sindh commissioners and deputy commissioners

Karachi: The Finance Department has released a total of Rs 526.6 million for the purchase of new vehicles for all commissioners and deputy commissioners (DCs) of Sindh province.
All commissioners and deputy commissioners of Sindh have been released for new vehicles, 6 commissioners and 29 deputy commissioners will be given new vehicles, while Keamari district is not included in this list.
Commissioners will be given a vehicle worth Rs 18 million, while deputy commissioners will get a vehicle worth Rs 14.4 million
The Sindh Finance Department has released the funds for the vehicles to the company, the funds were approved after a cabinet meeting and audit clearance.
It should be noted that in September 2024, amid claims of reducing government expenditure in the name of an austerity drive, it was revealed that the Sindh government had approved the purchase of 138 luxury double-cabin vehicles for its assistant commissioners posted across the province.
The Dawn newspaper report said that the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department had written to the Finance Department to release funds of about Rs 2 billion for the purchase of 138 double cabin (4×4) vehicles for assistant commissioners across the province.
Sources said that Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had approved the summary of the purchase of vehicles for assistant commissioners earlier this week before leaving for a week-long visit to the United States.
