Illegality at its peak: Imran Khan’s appeal against sentence in £190 million case likely not to be scheduled for a whole year

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has indicated that it will not hear Imran Khan’s appeal against his 14-year prison sentence in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust corruption case this year.

This report was submitted to the division bench by the Registrar’s Office of the Islamabad High Court in response to a petition filed by the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his wife Bushra Bibi for an early hearing of the appeal against the sentence.

According to the report, the criminal appeal filed by Imran Khan in January 2025 is facing an indefinite delay, and the court has confirmed that the case will not be heard during the current calendar year.
